Miller's paintings express her ideas and emotions concerning things that effect the future and have occurred in the past. Occurrences such as animals reflecting human behavior, evolution, adoption and the family dynamic, to the global warming effect on the planet and its flora and fauna. Animal behavior interests her, such as a dog adopting and rearing kittens, a behavior that seems to mirror human behavior and exemplify her belief that, boiled down, human is animal, and animal is human. Her paintings are often made in oil on wood panel. She occasionally makes watercolors or uses acrylic paint. She has also recently experimented with spray paint. She often makes and uses stencils to create repetition in her work. She is inspired by the natural world, its plants and their geometric shapes, patterns and repetitions. Wallpaper-like patterns also inspire her concept of repetition and patterns in life.
